a whirlwind of travel
so, following my trip to chicago with sisters, we've enjoyed a couple of weeks of whirlwind-ish travel. hence, i realize it's been light on the blog side of things.
On Saturday, December 8, we flew to Alaska to join in RIM Architect's Christmas party at the Alyeska Resort in Girdwood. Instead of skiing, we made Sunday a lounge and friends day - We slept in, met friends Nathan and Jamael for lunch, browsed our favorite bookstore in Anchorage - Titlewave, and met friend our friend Arthur for dinner at the Moose's Tooth (also the location of wayne and anna's first date!). Nathan and Jamael were also our wonderful hosts (as they usually are during Wayne's trips up to work at RIM. That is, usually hosts, always wonderful) for the duration of our time in Anchorage.
On Saturday, December 15, we flew to LA to attend George Smith Partners' Christmas party - at the California Yacht Club in Marina Del Rey. Stayed at the Inn at Playa Del Rey - our favorite place to stay in LA! On Sunday, we met up with family - Matt and Sufi and Teo - at the local LA ice skating rink. Who-da-thunk - ice skating in Santa Monica??!! It's true. How wonderful to skate with the warm sun on your face. Saw Wicked again, too - Wayne loved and I think it was even better the second time!
now i'm packing for the next round of trips...

chicago trip 2007
this past weekend, I enjoyed a fantastic weekend with my 3 sisters. I've heard a few people say that they prefer a trip to Chicago to a trip to New York. I suppose the jury is still out on that one, but I did have a great time in Chicago. It's beautiful at Christmastime, and full of people on the street shopping. We had interesting weather - very cold with snow and freezing rain on Saturday, and 50s and rain on Sunday. There was lots of huddling against each other and hot drinks between overcrowded stores. thank you girls - i love you!
